About Us
Our mother was primarily a cake decorator, but you must bake the cake before you can decorate it. Everyone knew our mom and raved about her cakes. Just about every person in Utica celebrated a birthday, a wedding, or a christening at least once (if not every special occasion!) with one of Ro's Cakes. We grew up with cake, cake is in our blood, cake is our heritage.

Here's the story that launched the business. Of course it begins with a cake.
In 2022, I couldn't be with Barb on her actual birth date. Had I been with her, of course I'd have baked her a cake. It's what we do.
The Cake That Started It All
As we are cake people and birthday people who strongly believe in BIRTHDAY CAKE, I found a fancy online bakery that ships and I sent her a cake to arrive on her actual birthday.
And the fancy birthday cake was "just ok."
For what I paid, and it was just okay?
When I saw her in person, two weeks later, of course I showed up with a homemade cake. See cake pictured; the actual 2022 belated birthday cake. That is an Orange Italian Cream Cake, one of her favorites that none of us had made in years. And it was delicious and it made her happy. And we said to each other, over mouthfuls of heavenly cake, "The world needs our cake."
And that's how our business was conceived.
