Banana Split cake is all of the flavors of a banana split made with cake, instead of ice cream. You'll find plenty of recipes online to make a traditional round cake. You won't find anything quite like ours.
What inspired Banana Split cake-in-a-jar?
This was the original banana split cake, invented by Barb in August 2012.
What is Banana Split cake-in-a-jar?
Our Banana Split cake-in-a-jar takes its inspiration from the OG Banana Split cake (see above) with a few modifications. Let's "dig in"! 
From bottom to top:
White cake with fresh strawberries. We use sweet, fresh, local strawberries, chop them into uniform pieces, and gently fold into our white cake.
Chocolate custard. Traditional banana split has chocolate fudge, which is drippy and messy. We make our chocolate custard from scratch using yolks excluded from the white cake, sugar, corn starch, and Guittard semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Whipped cream. Fresh whipping cream that we whip ourselves, with just a smidge of sweetener.
White cake with fresh pineapple. Canned pineapple is too wet and too sweet. We use fresh pineapple, chopped into perfect, bite-sized pieces that we gently fold into the cake.
Banana custard. Here is where we depart from the original cake Barb invented. Her cake had fresh banana slices layered within the chocolate custard. We didn't want the banana to get lost, so we replaced those slices with creamy banana custard.
Fresh whipped cream. Freshly whipped and just sweet enough.
Topped with walnuts & a maraschino cherry!
